The 5 Dinars coin of the State of Kuwait, issued in the year 1401 A.H. (1981), was minted to commemorate the beginning of the 15th Hijri century. It is made of 925 silver, weighs 28.28 grams, and has a diameter of 38 mm.
The obverse features the Dome of the Rock with the inscription “STATE OF KUWAIT” and the denomination “FIVE DINARS.” The reverse showcases images of the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, along with the inscription “BEGINNING OF 15TH HIJRAH CENTURY 1401 A.H.”
